Greenlea Cottage is nestled in the village of Witton le Wear. Sitting on the banks of the River Wear, cozying up to its neighbouring Witton Castle only separated by a short but stunning wild garlic scented woodland walk, interrupted only by the lovely sandstone arched bridge spanning the river Wear.
With an abundance of amenities and attractions in this beautiful area of the North Pennines, Wear Valley and its neighbouring valleys, you’ll be spoilt for choice with things to do and visit.
To name a few, Locomotion National Railway Museum, Bowes Museum and its priceless Silver Swan, Raby Castle and its deer park, Auckland Castle and the UK’s only Faith Museum, Weardale Railway that meanders its way from Bishop Auckland up the Wear Valley (stopping at Witton le Wear station) and impressive Kynren, An Epic Tale of England.
Many more attractions await you along with many historic pretty sandstone villages surrounded by countryside, reservoir, river, moor or forest walks.
Walk or cycle the Weardale Way and our beautiful Greenlea Cottage sits on its very path, you can also safely store your bicycles in its bicycle store.
Greenlea Cottage sleeps up to six persons and two dogs. The cottage comprises bedroom 1: King size double bed with en suite and tv, bedroom 2: double bed and bedroom 3: two single beds. There are two bathroom amenities.
