ANH Artisan offer a variety of hand tool woodworking courses for beginners from our teaching workshop in Weardale. With over 18 years of experience as a woodworker, designer and maker, I have been based in the heart of Weardale for the past 10 years.
My passion for woodworking led me to offer beginner and intermediate hand tool woodworking courses, where enthusiasts can learn the art of woodworking here at the workshop in the beautiful wildlife site Harehope Quarry near Frosterley, County Durham.
My modern hand tool woodworking courses run throughout the year and allow you to discover the speed and accuracy you can achieve with a simple set of tools. During my courses, you will learn to saw, plane and chisel with confidence (all tools are provided) and you receive individual guidance tailored to your skills.
Courses are suitable for beginners and improvers and are taught in small groups (maximum 5 people) to ensure you get the most from your course. Our focus is on developing skills and understanding that stays with you long after the course finishes.
As a furniture maker I have worked with private clients up and down the country creating unique bespoke pieces of furniture as well as exhibiting work as part of design exhibitions in the BALTIC centre for contemporary, the Shipley Art Gallery in Gateshead and the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle. I am a member of Heritage Crafts and have been awarded a gold award certificate from CraftCourses.com
