Extremely pet friendly with a lovely, private, enclosed cottage garden, including a BBQ brick stand, a sunken fire pit and bistro set, ideal for relaxing under starry nights. The skies above are stunning on a clear night, with the added chance of good Aurora sightings.

Acorn boasts a toasty open log fire with a full basket of logs, kindling & lighters supplied for stays from a minimum of two-nights.The bathroom has a huge, walk-in, power shower, with toiletries provided. Luxury bed linen & towels also provided for each guest.

The fully equipped kitchen has all the utensils and appliances you could need, with cleaning, tea and coffee, condiment welcome packs as a standard supply, and a bonus ‘thank you for staying’ welcome pack. The sitting room has a smart TV and added board games, for the kids of the family (or adults!) to get those special memories made on cosy stay in nights or rainy days. A village play park is a few minutes away and children will love the ‘back to nature activities’ that naturally surround the cottage.

The location is central in Westgate, hidden behind Front Street, in a private old farm yard; the traditional wash house & cow shed are still attached to the cottage giving it even more rustic charm and a historical feel to the site.

It is a five-minute walk on the road outside of the cottage yard, to the stunning Slitt Woods, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, known for its flora and fauna and its industrial mining heritage. Beautiful cascading waterfalls and a stream lined walk awaits, with amazing British wildlife to be seen and heard. Westgate has a plethora of scenic walks in all directions with accessible streams and rivers for those that like a traditional ‘plodge’, fossil & fluorite hunting or who’s dog family love the water and great walks.

A traditional village pub serving weekend, delicious food is a two-minute walk and within walking distance, St. Johns Chapel offers more village pubs and a café, which are dog-friendly, you have a great choice of eateries from Acorn Cottage.

If a relaxing, traditional country stay is what you are after, to create memories with the family and/or the pet family, come stay at Acorn Cottage.
